A child's faith

Last week Ava comes home from school and she said she wrote a story on a piece of paper. She told me she wrote " I want to die " on the paper.

I was like WHAT ! Why would you say that, she says, I want to meet Jesus. I then responded did you put that on the paper ? She says no! So I was expecting a call from the school head dr.

I finally got the paper Ava wrote on, and this is what she wrote " I am GOD'S daughter, I want to die, I want to meet Jesus " ( this is the typo free version )

Then Logan and her both laying in bed started talking about dying to meet Jesus. We called them downstairs to talk to them about Jesus and dying.

We have decided that if they need to speak to Jesus, they can pray for write him a letter and they can put it in the offering box at church.

I love the way Ava and Logan Love GOD and they just want to be with him so much BUT they know it's when GOD wants them, for now they are mine.

I hope they continue to want to walk in his light as the middle school years approach !

GOD IS VERY ALIVE HERE !!

This past weekend with the children's spiritual growth has been amazing.

On Friday Logan asked to see Jesus dying on the cross. I sighed and for a moment thought no but then I thought why hide it from him since he already knows the story. Ava absolutely said NO to seeing the picture which was fine.

So I found the least bloody image I could Of Jesus and showed Logan. Logan put his hand over his heart and he was very quiet. Then Ava changed her mind and wanted to see the image. They were both very calm but did comment how it was not a nice thing they did to him.

On Saturday easter egg hunt for Ava and Logan and some friends was canceled due to wet yard!

Later towards evening the kids were off playing somewhere and I saw Passion of the Christ was on, it was the scene where Simon ( hope thats right ) is helping Jesus carry his cross. I heard the kids come running from the other room, I quickly put up the channel guide but they saw the image and they were like " Jesus ! we want to watch this. "

Right then again I was faced with this decision. I said okay, each child sat with one of us and I turned the movie back on. Jesus falls on the road, the guards push Simon away and shoo him away. When the guards are speaking to Jesus, Ryan reads the subtitles to the kids. They watched about a minute of the movie then we turned it off and said, " He could've said NO at anytime but he didn't cause he loves us, he loves you beyond all belief. The pain he suffered was immense so we could be together in heaven with him when we die."

The fact that Logan and Ava dealt with seeing part of the movie so well was amazing, seeing Jesus someone they love covered in blood and in so much pain and they were able to ask questions and have a conversation with us was amazing but there is NO WAY on this earth they will see the scourging or actual nailing to the cross til they are ALOT OLDER cause I think that would break Ava since she is so sensitive.

That night I went to sleep with such joy in my heart, my kids know and understand this ! When I was there age I was just hoping that stupid easter bunny would bring me some red jelly beans, I had no idea about Jesus and his awesome message that my children revel in.

Sunday morning arrived, we got to church early before the onslaught of that nightmare of being around 2000 people can be. We ate breakfast, met up with our friends who decided to come to church and got everyone checked in. Awesome music, service and fellowship.

Later that day we hosted our easter egg hunt. We hid them in our yard and our neighbors yard next door. The kids had a blast. I have a friend who actually owns a bunny rabbit, her fiance and her brought the rabbit over to be with the kids and play. Amazingly for a rabbit who has never been around kids, this rabbit was awesome and of course made for GREAT PICTURES !!

Yesterday we went strawberry picking, 10 pounds of strawberries for 12.00 BUCKS !

The kids tracked back in today, after next track out I will have a 2nd grader who can do times tables ( unbelievable math whiz ) and a crazy drama queen first grader !

The Christian heart.

This morning I asked Ava if she paid for her lunch accordingly yesterday.

She paused and said no, she gave her money to a classmate. I was stunned. I said why on earth would you do that ?

She responded " He needed it, he didn't have money for lunch. "

I couldn't be angry at her. She loves to give, she's compassionate and loving.

I explained to her that it's very important right now she keep her money for her lunch money and if her classmate needs help with lunch then they need to see the teacher.

I have emailed the teacher and asked her if she knows anything about this and or if she can ask the other child why they needed the money.

I look at Ava, I see this sassy mouthy girl emerging BUT more often than not I see a beautiful child blossoming into the Christian she is going to be called to be. Loving, kind, compassionate and generous.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of my baby girl !!!!

Looking back...................

Today I was looking at some photos from 2 yrs ago of Ava and Logan at the beach.
I can't believe how beautiful my kids are most days !

Ava is getting sassier and I can remember when she was sooooo sweet, lol.

Logan is exercising his defiance a little more these days as well and his drama is also improving ! Just the other day he says " Oh ava has ruined my life ! "

I was like OMG,lol. He explained that he doesn't like playing with her cause she won't stick to his schedule. This was the longest track out, lol. THANK GOD they go back tomorrow

Reaching for you ................

About a week ago the kids and I pulled into the parking lot at Wal mart and I explained to the kids that when I was there age, I didn't know GOD or what he was about and all I heard was this huge collective GASP come from them and of course they had to know why.

I explained the best i could.

I'm so proud of my kids and their love for GOD, knowing him, trusting him , reaching for him.

Yesterday in the car we were singing Jesus saves by Jeremy camp. No matter how angry I can get at the kids, listening to them sing Jesus's praise melts away all anger.

Update !!

WOW , It's been ages since I have blogged !

Gee, lets see, hmmm. We haven't moved. We are still attending the same church. I was in a pretty bad car accident last March that totaled my car.

Ava started kindergarten,Logan started first grade back in July. So much for me having a job, NONE to be had. I've applied over 200 resumes, nothing. Being at home has really stunted me for the return to the workplace BUT NEVER fear I have my talent and soon it will be a legit business with an actual registered business name and business insurance.

Logan just turned 7 and Ava will be turning 6 very soon !

Logan continues to improve, there are some slight quirks that have arisen but we will deal with that day by day.

It's so weird to have one autistic and one so called " normal " kid. Logan already knows all 50 state capitals. Just getting Ava to spell some words can be like getting me to the dentist, IMPOSSIBLE,lol.

Our friend Rachel left in January to do the World race which is 11 countries in 11 months. Logan seems to be handling it okay for now. She called us 30 minutes before she boarder her plane to Thailand to talk to Logan and us. I'm so proud of her and so blessed that I know this amazing young woman who is helping to shape our children

I'm so proud of Ava and Logan's spirituality. Every meal Logan says blessing for us, no matter if we are at home or mcdonalds.

For now I am signing off for now, more tomorrow
